What is the best digital aerial?

Indoor, outdoor and loft aerials

To define which digital aerial offers the best TV reception for your situation, first and most important to know is your location, as the distance from the nearest transmitter will determine the type of aerial you need.

There are three options to choose from: an indoor, outdoor and loft aerials. How to choose?

Indoor aerials

If you live within a 15 miles radius of the nearest transmitter, we recommend to use an indoor aerial for optimal reception, this type of aerial is definitely easier to install as you don’t have to mount it. Do always check specifications to see the exact reach of each indoor aerial as there are aerials with a reach of 3 miles, 9 miles and 15 miles.

Our indoor digital aerials ensure the best possible reception thanks to their innovative technology and features, even in areas with weak signals.

Outdoor aerials

If you live in a 15 to 30 miles radius of the nearest transmitter, you should use an outdoor aerial for crystal clear reception. Most common outdoor aerials are the Yagi aerials, easy to recognise due to their traditional design, One For All offers easier to mount and modern looking outdoor aerials as well. Do always check individual product specifications as reach may differ from 15 miles up to 30 miles.

All of our outdoor aerials are designed to withstand the most heavy weather conditions.

Loft aerials

Loft aerials are becoming increasingly popular, particularly in newly built houses as most households do not want their aerial to clutter their new, modern home. Placing an aerial in the loft seems like a logical option: it does not interfere with your interior, however, it is important to ensure that the aerial is positioned correctly, and at the right height.

Please note that loft aerials are not recommended for use with a metal roof.

Besides location and type of aerials there are other things to be aware of when buying a digital aerial.

DVB-T2 and Freeview signal

Freeview brings you the best possible line-up of TV for free. With over 70 standard channels and 15 HD channels, through your TV aerial, for no monthly cost. Enjoy the nation’s favourite programmes together with your family without paying a penny for channels you don’t watch.

HD ready, Full HD or 4K Ultra HD, we have them all!

One For All offers a wide range of powerful indoor and outdoor aerials ensuring perfect reception of digital TV. Our wide product range varies from standard telescopic HD ready aerials to highly advanced 4K Ultra HD ready aerials. Every product is designed with maximum performance in mind.

Amplified vs. non-amplified aerials

Whether you need an amplified or non-amplified aerial depends on the area you live in. If you live in an area near a transmitter with little interference, a non-amplified aerial will do. However, when living further than 3 miles away from the nearest transmitter or in areas with a lot of signal disturbance caused by Wi-Fi or mobile phones, then an amplified aerial is the best option for you

LTE interference

The mobile telephone networks 4G/LTE partly use the same bandwidth as DVB-T and therefore might create interference that dilutes the clearness of the signal. One For All aerials have a build-in LTE/4G filter to take away this interference, ensuring crystal clear reception. Please make sure to check specifications to find out if your aerial has a built-in 4G/LTE filter.
